Iron Ore Fines

South African Origin- (FE Grade 50% to 62%)

Iron ore fines are fine-grained particles of iron ore, typically measuring less than 6mm in size. These fines are generated as a byproduct during the mining, crushing, and screening of iron ore. While they contain a high percentage of iron (Fe 56%–65%), their fine texture makes them unsuitable for direct use in blast furnaces. Instead, they are processed into sinter or pellets to improve their usability in steel production.

Formation & Processing:

• Extracted from iron ore deposits and crushed into smaller sizes.
• Mined ore undergoes screening and beneficiation to improve iron content.
• Iron ore fines are processed into sinter or pellets for use in steelmaking.

Industrial Uses of Iron Ore Fines:

• Steel Manufacturing: Used as a raw material after sintering or pelletizing.
• Sintering & Pelletizing: Converted into larger iron units for efficient smelting.
• Metallurgical Processes: Used in iron-based foundries and industries.
